Henrique Meirelles Senior Advisor, KKR, and former President of Brazil Central Bank KKR

Henrique Meirelles joined KKR in 2012 as a Senior Advisor. As a Senior Advisor, Mr. Meirelles plays a key role in KKR's business development effort in Brazil and in Latin America. Mr. Meirelles, Brazil's longest serving central bank chief under former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, served in this post from January 2003 to December 2010. Prior to this position, he was President of FleetBoston's Corporate and Global Bank, a position he was appointed to in 1999, following the merger of BankBoston Corporation and Fleet Financial Group. Mr. Meirelles joined BankBoston Corporation in 1974, becoming its President in Brazil in 1984 and its President and Chief Operating Officer in 1996.



Joshua Harris Senior Managing Director APOLLO MANAGEMENT

Mr. Harris is a co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Apollo Global Management, LLC.  Prior to 1990, Mr. Harris currently serves on the boards of directors of Apollo Global Management, LLC, Berry Plastics Group, LyondellBasell Industries, CEVA Logistics, Momentive Performance Materials, EP Energy and Constellium.  Mr. Harris is a member of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York Investors Advisory Committee on Financial Markets.  He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.  Mr. Harris serves as Chairman of the Department of Medicine Advisory Board for The Mount Sinai Medical Center and is on the Board of Trustees of the Mount Sinai Medical Center.  He is also a member of The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board and is on the Board of Trustees for The Allen-Stevenson School and Harvard Business School.  Mr. Harris is the Managing Partner of the Philadelphia 76ers. 



Mario Arend Chief Economist CELFIN CAPITAL

Mario Arend provides economics perspective for the region and leads a group of economists in Chile, Colombia and Peru. Between 2005 and 2008 he gained extensive macroeconomic experience as economic advisor at the Ministry of Finance Chile, working in the macroeconomic area. Previously he also served as advisor in the Association of Banks of Chile. He is currently visiting professor of Economic Policy at Universidad Gabriela Mistral.

Mr. Bonchristiano joined GP Investimentos S.A. in 1993 and has been a partner thereof since 1995. He serves as a member of the board of directors of Estácio Participações, Brazil Hospitality Group and BRProperties. He previously served as a member of the board of directors of ALL, Gafisa, Hopi Hari and Submarino. He was also previously a chief financial officer of SuperMar Supermercados and founder and chief executive officer of Submarino.



Fernando Borges Managing Director THE CARLYLE GROUP

Fernando Borges is a Managing Director and Head of the Carlyle South America Buyout group focused on private equity investment opportunities in South America. He is based in Sao Paulo.
Mr. Borges joined Carlyle in 2007 and is primarily responsible for the management and oversight of Carlyle's private equity operations in South America, leading a team of 11 investment professionals.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Borges was a Managing Director at AIG Capital Partners and CEO of AIG Capital Investments do Brasil, being responsible for managing AIG's private equity activities in Brazil. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Borges was a Director of Bozano, Simonsen's Private equity division, where he was responsible for managing a private equity fund sponsored by Bozano, Simonsen Group and Advent International.



Marcelo Carvalho Head of Economic Research BNP PARIBAS

Marcelo Carvalho is the Head of Latam Economic Research for BNP Paribas where he coordinates a team of economists based in São Paulo, Buenos Aires and New York. Marcelo focuses on Brazil, providing forecasts, analysis and views on the economy, while supporting the trading desk and interacting with investors and the press in Brazil and abroad. Prior to his current role, Marcelo worked for the International Monetary Fund and as chief economist for Brazil and at top international investment banks, including Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan. 



Steven Costabile Global Head of Private Equity Funds Group PINEBRIDGE INVESTMENTS

Mr. Costabile joined the fi rm’s predecessor company in 2000 and is the Managing Director of the Private Funds Group. He serves on the Developed Markets Fund Investment Committee, Secondaries Investment Committee and Asia Private Equity Investment Committee. His current responsibilities include overseeing all private funds investments in the developed and many emerging markets, as well as sourcing, due diligence, monitoring product development and marketing.



Patricia Dinneen Managing Director SIGULER GUFF

Pat has primary responsibility for managing the BRIC Opportunities Funds, focusing on private equity investments in Brazil, Russia, India and China. Prior to joining Siguler Guff in 2004, she was at Cambridge Associates where she led the emerging markets private equity advisory business. Prior to joining Cambridge Associates, she founded a consulting fi rm specialising in telecommunications. Previously, she worked for British Telecommunications and has also held positions at Hughes Communications, The RAND Corporation, and the White House.



Nicolas Drapeau Director, Private Markets BIMCOR

Nicolas Drapeau is a director for private markets at Bimcor, a mid-size corporate pension plan  based in Canada with an active allocation  to private equity and infrastructure. Before joining Bimcor, he worked for Pantheon Ventures, a large global fund of funds in their London office for three years (04-07) after a four year spell with the European team of the Russell private equity fund of funds in Paris (00-04). He started his career at Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec (97-00) focusing on international fund investments.



Carlos Frederico Aires Duque Diretor-Superintendente INFRAPREV

Carlos has worked in the pension funds sector for 27 years, and specialises in environmental issues that involve investments and the sustainability of pension funds and companies in general. He is the Coordinator of the Principles for Responsible Investment Group in Brazil, in the question of admission of new signatories, a member of the Technical Committee of the Carbon Disclosure Project in Latin America and member of National Technical Committee on Sustainability of the Brazilian Association of Pension Funds (Abrapp).



Patrice Etlin Managing Partner ADVENT INTERNATIONAL

Patrice Etlin joined Advent International in 1997 and started the firm’s investment activities in Brazil. Previously, Patrice was a partner at International Venture Partners in São Paulo, a General Representative for Brazil at Matra Marconi Space, a subsidiary of Matra-Hachette and Gec-Marconi, and member of the Strategic and Development Group of Matra-Hachette. Patrice is also the Chairman of LAVCA, a board member of ABVCAP and a member of the Listing Committee of Bovespa Mais.

Prior to joining ATP PEP in 2003, Ms. Forsingdal headed the Strategy and Investor Relations department of Danske Bank. Roberto Hesketh Private Equity Manager FUNDAÇÃO REAL GRANDEZA

Roberto Hesketh is a Private Equity and Hedge Funds Senior Analyst at Real Grandeza Pension Fund in Brazil. He started his career as stock market trader at Futuro DTVM and later as an auditor for Arthur Andersen Brazil. After taken his MBA Program, he was part of the Corporate Finance team of companies such as Deloitte, Unibanco, Globalbank (a Private Equity fund), KPMG and Multicapital do Brasil. He has professional experience in valuation, mergers and acquisition, banking, auditing and strategic planning.



Sabine Kaiser Investment Director BTV BETEILIGUNGSVERWALTUNG

Sabine Kaiser is in charge of private (PE/VC) and public fund investments at BTV, a Munich based single family office, investing globally. Prior to that she was an investment director at Technologieholding/3i and a management consultant with McKinsey&Co.



Ralph Keitel Principal Investment Officer IFC

Ralph Keitel is a Principal Investment Officer in the Private Equity and Investment Funds department of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Since joining IFC in early 2006, he has been responsible as regional lead for IFC’s private equity fund activities in Eastern Europe/Russia (2006-2008), Africa (2008-2011) and, since 2011, Latin Ameria. Prior to joining IFC, Ralph was with Caisse de Dépot et Placement de Québec (CDP) in Montréal, where he was responsible for a portfolio of venture capital funds in North America and Europe. Previously, he spent nearly 5 years with TBG (now part of the KfW Group, Frankfurt), providing seed financing and venture capital for technology start-up companies before assuming responsibility for TBG’s funds portfolio. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is the World Bank Group’s private sector arm, headquartered in Washington DC. IFC’s private equity funds department has invested more than US$ 3 billion in over 180 emerging markets private equity funds.



Jaime Londoño Principal PANTHEON

Jaime focuses on the sourcing, selection and monitoring of private equity funds in Latin America. Prior to joining Pantheon, Jaime was a Vice President with Wilshire Private Markets, where he was responsible for sourcing, performing due diligence on and monitoring investments across private equity sectors within the U.S. and Latin America. 



Rodrigo Lowndes Managing Director SOUTHERN CROSS GROUP

Rodrigo Lowndes joined Southern Cross as a Managing Director in 2009. Prior to that, he was president and head of investment banking for Morgan Stanley in Brazil. Lowndes has also worked for Banco Garantia and Vale do Rio Doce in his earlier career.



Sergio Luna Chief Economist BANAMEX

Sergio Luna is director of the Department of Economic Research at Banamex. He has 25 years of experience as a professional economist and since October 2005 has acted as Citi´s global economist for Mexico. Sergio has taught at UNAM´s School of Economics, the University of London and CIDE (Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económica) in Mexico City.



Antonio Machado Portfolio Manager FUNDAÇÃO REAL GRANDEZA

Antonio Machado is Portfolio Manager and Head Trader of Real Grandeza  - Fundação de Previdência e Assistência Social, the Pension Fund for Eletrobrás Furnas and Eletrobrás Eletronuclear employees, and one of the largest institutional investors in Brazil with US$ 5.5 billion in assets under management. Prior to Real Grandeza, Mr. Machado was Partner and Portfolio Manager at Opportunity Asset Management, Bulltick LLC and Paraty Investments.



Roberto Martins Managing Director CITI PRIVATE BANK

Roberto Martins is the Global Market Manager for Brazil. In this role, he manages the Private Bank in Brazil, including both local and international offices. Roberto is responsible for strategic initiatives that help Brazilian clients access Citi´s full platform and presence in more than one hundred countries. He manages the team of Private Bankers, in addition to all client-related services.  Prior to this role, Roberto was the Head of the LatAm Investment Counselors, when he led Investment Counselors who helped clients build portfolios and manage investments. In addition to this role, he was also the head of the Investment Lab, a leading quantitative analysis and research department, responsible for developing Asset Allocation, Portfolio Construction and customized, independent investment strategies. Roberto has been with Citi for eight years, where he lead key initiatives, including the development of analytical tools and investment methodologies that are now widely used by clients to measure risk and identify investment opportunities. Prior to joining Citi, Roberto spent two years with CSFB's Private Client Group, covering Brazilian clients and developing analytical work for high net worth clients. In Brazil, Roberto accumulated more than seven years experience in the construction and hydrology research sector.



Christopher Meyn Partner GÁVEA INVESTIMENTOS

Christopher Meyn: Joined Gávea Investmentos in January 2006 and is the Partner responsible for the day-to-day management of the Gávea Investment Funds (Private Equity) Group. Previously, Christopher served as a Managing Director and Investment Committee member for Latinvest Asset Management and its US-based parent, Globalvest Management Company, one of the largest independent asset managers with a focus on value investing in Latin American equities. At Globalvest, Christopher was responsible for the firms’ private equity and venture capital initiatives in Latin America. Prior to this, Christopher worked as a Vice President for Dick Clark International Cable Ventures specializing in acquisition and development of telecom licenses in Latin America, as the Vice President – Finance for The Marks Group, Inc. a US-based telecommunications holding company, and as an investment banker in mergers & acquisitions for Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.  



Marshall Parke Managing Partner LEXINGTON PARTNERS

Mr. Parke is a Managing Partner of Lexington Partners, a firm with $22 billion of aggregate commitments under management. Lexington is focused on acquiring secondary interests in private equity funds and portfolios of companies, and making direct co-investments. Lexington has a strong Latin American investor base and has built a portfolio of investments in leading LatAm funds. Mr Parke began his career at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.



Alexandre Saigh Managing Partner & Head of Private Equity PÁTRIA INVESTIMENTOS

Mr. Saigh was one of the Founders of Pátria in 2001 developing and leading the efforts for Pátria to become a leading alternative investment firm in Brazil. Mr. Saigh joined Patrimônio (Pátria’s predecessor company) in 1994, as a Managing Partner responsible for private equity business. Between 1994 and 1997, while developing Patrimônio’s private equity business, Mr. Saigh was CEO and CFO of Drogasil, Pátria’s first private equity investment. Prior to joining Patrimônio, Mr. Saigh worked at JPMorgan Investment Bank from 1989 to 1994, as a Vice President for its private equity, corporate finance and M&A divisions.

In 1996, Mr. Spinola joined Banco Garantia after working in private equity and mergers & acquisitions with International Venture Partners and Capitaltec Consultoria Econômica for 4 years.  During his 10 year tenure with Banco Garantia and Credit Suisse, Mr. Spinola was responsible for one of first private equity funds raised in Brazil. In 2006 Mr. Spinola co-founded DLJ South American Partners, the predecessor of Victoria Capital Partners



Jens Henrik Staugaard Johansen Managing Partner PKA AIP

Jens Henrik Staugaard Johansen is the Managing Partner at PKA AIP,  which manages the alternative investments on behalf of the five pension funds associated with PKA A/S including allocations to private equity, infrastructure, timber, and agriculture funds as well as direct investments. The current portfolio of USD ~2bn is invested across +80 funds and +50 managers, predominantly US and European mid market funds. Furthermore, USD 2bn is allocated for new commitments during 2012-2014.Jens Henrik began his career at Vaekstfonden and has since worked for The European Investment Fund and Bain & Company before joining PKA in 2010.

Scott Voss is a managing director who joined HarbourVest in 1999.  He transferred to the Firm's Hong Kong-based subsidiary in 2011 to complement the primary partnership team's venture, cleantech, and developing Asia capabilities.  He has also focused on primary partnership investments in the U.S. and Latin America and collaborated with the secondary team on several investment opportunities.  Scott serves on several advisory boards, including funds managed by Advent International (Latin America), Bain Capital Ventures, Braemar Energy Ventures, Doll Capital Management, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Element Management, Insight Venture Partners, Linzor Capital Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, Pfingsten Partners, and Southern Cross Capital Management.  His prior experience includes managing international sales and distribution for Cannondale Corporation, a leading manufacturer of bicycles and cycling accessories, where he had direct oversight of the company's wholly-owned Asia subsidiaries and its network of independent distributors in the region. 



Cheng Wang Principal - Private Equity Investments THE GUARDIAN LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY OF AMERICA

Cheng Wang is a Principal with the Private Equity team. He manages private equity deal sourcing and due diligence, performance analytics, strategic asset allocation, and portfolio monitoring and reporting.  Prior to join Guardian in October 2007, Cheng worked at WestLB Mellon Asset Management in NYC. Previously he had 2 years of consulting experience at Alignment Capital Group LLC in Austin, Texas and started his investment management career at Florida State Board of Administration in 2002.
