Michael is currently focused on the delivery of the third runway at Heathrow. In his previous role as Strategy and Development Director at LHR, he developed the transformation strategy of the airport as well as directing the T5 Development and Design.

In 2009, Philip has advised Global Infrastructure Partners on their bid for Gatwick Airport, Changi & Basic Element on their bid for St Petersburg Pulkovo as well as bond issues for Zurich and Auckland airports. 

Michael started his professional carrier at Crossair in various management positions, he then took over a senior management role at Swissair. He is currently President of the German Airport Association - ADV.

Rodrigo Vila de Benavent joined the Directorate-General for Transport in 1987. He has been responsible for the units of "Aviation Safety and Environment", "Inland waterways short sea shipping and ports" and, since 2006, "Airports and infrastructure".
